Showcase: Blood Rage

Here's something I painted earlier this year and haven't had a chance to post yet - it's a full game of Blood Rage!

Blood Rage is a strategy boardgame published by CMON. The theme is Norse mythology. The basic backstory goes as such:  Ragnarök, the end of the world, is upon us and the four big clans fight for the favour of the gods.

The game contains very pretty miniatures: 9 for each of the clans (eight warriors and one leader), a ship marker for each of the clans, and a number of really big monsters.

Serpent Clan

All the clan minis are rather nice and underline a specific character to their clan. I tried to reflect that in their colour schemes. I'm not really happy with the design on the Serpent Clan. There is a humongous amount of cleavage and 'undercleavage'. Doesn't really catapult humanity ahead, does it?

In terms of technique the minis are really pretty. They're made of that vinyl-like soft plastic which bends really easily under heat.

Yup, that's it. I even got to play Bloodrage myself by now. It's rather fun. Feels a bit like 7 Wonders or maybe Bruges, plus a bit of area control strategy game on the board.
