Showcase: 6mm French Napoleonics

A whoooooole lot of 6mm Frenchmen!

After two and a half years, I finally  managed to put my own (yup, these are my own, not a commission job this time) 6mm Napoleonic French army on the table and take some photos.

It's all Baccus miniatures. Infantry, Foot Artillery, Horse Artillery (only Guard unit I have so far), Cuirassiers, Dragoons, Hussars and Chasseurs á Cheval. And I still have a pile of figures left to do. Much more infantry, more artillery, Guard Lancers (of course), Old Guard Grenadiers (of course), Napoleon himself, and other commander bases.

No photoshop magic in this shot.

They're based on 40x20mm bases, put together with some other sized bases (for skirmishers, regimental guns, officers or just blanks) for a total base size of 80x60mm bases (including a ~10mm strip in the back to mount unit names/stats in the back of the base) on a magnetic sheets.

They were made with Sam Mustafa's Blücher and Lasalle rules in mind, but should be flexible enough for pretty much anything, as long as it doesn't require too fancy formation-forming. So for anything from battalion level and up should work without a problem.

Haven't fielded them once so far due to the lack of opposition (for now!), but I like my little Nappys. Working with 6mm figures is just fun, and you can't beat the look of a proper army on the table.

  2. Thanks very much for commenting so diligently, Carole. It's much appreciated.

Yeah, this collection's been really fun to work with. When I set them all up and saw how much actually is finished already it almost got me a bit sad that simply due to space constraints this army is close to being 'finished'. :D
