Heyhey, here's some horse artillery and light infantry Jägers from the lovely kingdom of Württemberg, from around 1809.
The kingdom of course was founded by Napoleon in 1806, as part of the conglomeration of buffer states that we know as the Confederation of the Rhine. Wedged in between the kingdom of Bavaria and the grand duchy of Baden, the kingdom existed until 1918,even though it was very much part of the German Reich unter Prussia's leadership from 1871.
In 1809, Württemberg was part of French and allied forces to beat the rebellion in Tyrol. For the 1812 campaign, 15,800 Würrttemberg troops were sent into Russia, of whom only a few hundred returned.
After the defeat at Leipzig 1813 and after being assured independence and sovereignty they switched sides and joined the coalition against Napoleon.
So much for a tiny little bit of historical context. This is the first time I worked with Piano Wargames miniatures. Very pretty figures, tip top quality cast (I got the metal cast versions). They're all digitally designed and available via Piano Wargames website.
I'll write a bit more about Piano miniatures in the future, so stay tuned for more!
